Les Petits Cherubs, located in Philadelphia, PA, is a licensed, private learning and child care center, operating year-round Monday thru Friday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. We offer a limited number of enrollments to children of 6 weeks through 13 years old. We have infant, toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs, before and after care programs for school age children through 13 years of age, along with a Summer Camp program and holiday care program.
Les Petits Cherubs is accredited through the Keystone Stars Program and has been awarded a partnership in the Pre-K Counts Programs. Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts is a statewide high quality pre-kindergarten program for 3 & 4 year olds at risk of school failure due to income, language, special needs or other issues. The Keystone Stars Program is a state wide, voluntary quality improvement program that recognizes child care providers who exceed state health and safety licensing requirements.
We strive to provide a comprehensive curriculum to establish firm foundations in the areas of emotional, cognitive, and physical development. By offering children the opportunity to learn, grow, and accomplish tasks in a challenging environment, we promote confidence, security, and positive self-image for each child. We believe children should be children and that their day should be filled with learning, adventure and fun in a safe, protected atmosphere that encourages confidence and caring.
Les Petits Cherubs truly respects the right of parents and their children. In strong support of open and continuing communication between parents and staff, we encourage any and all comments, concerns, and suggestions.
CURRICULUM AND SCHEDULES
Our curriculum is based on monthly themes supported by the Pennsylvania Early Childhood Education Standards. These Early Learning Standards are research-based standards that identify key learning areas of development for children. They are used as a guide to intentionally integrate developmental knowledge with the attitudes, skills, and concepts children need to make progress in all learning areas. We also incorporate the Piaget Theory of Teaching in the development of our curriculum. This is most notable in our learning center approach, which allows for the child to learn and discover their environment naturally.
All daily schedules vary according to the individual child’s needs.
Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment, to stimulate curiosity in a positive way, and to encourage physical and emotional growth. Our objective is to establish a learning program for each child on an individual level, as well as a group level.
ACTIVITIES
Our program seeks to encompass a full array of activities that are developmentally age appropriate. We strive to provide all families who are enrolled at L.P.C. with an environment that encourages respect for all cultures and differences. Our sites host various activities for the children including French Language, Dance, Computers, Karate, Field Trips, Library Education, and an Intergenerational Program.
